AIC robotic islands will automate the tagging process for steel bundles on both rolling mill outlets, incorporating several advanced features to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
The robot applies printed tags to the bundle head using metallic studs, with a 3D vision system that identifies the optimal spot for tagging.
An optional second tag or a sticker tag for specific products is also included in one of the two islands to be supplied. Both islands include QR code readers to verify the printed tag data against the tracking system of the plant, ensuring consistency. Additionally, the system includes a dispenser for applying up to six colored tags to identify special bundles, such as defected ones, end of a heat and so on.
