AIC has successfully completed on time and on the requested schedule the modernization of the rolling mill, to improve drive systems, automation, and operator safety.
The project included the supply of main AC drive panels for the stands, along with a DC bus supply module. In addition, AIC has supplied new pumps and fans for the water treatment drives covering the entire process from engineering and design to manufacturing, internal testing, delivery, commissioning, and installation documentation.
As part of the modernization, AICv has provided a complete suite of automation and safety systems, including:
- Safety PLC panels,
- Local safety control stations.
The existing HMI system has also been upgraded to fully integrate control and monitoring of the new drives. The system update includes alarm integration and interface improvements.
The IBA system has also been modified to include all I/O signals from the new equipment using the existing license and communication drivers, ensuring seamless integration without additional hardware.
The PLC software has been upgraded to:
- Enable network control of drives,
- Adapt HMI functions to the new systems,
- Retune impact compensation and tension control algorithms.
