Celsa Nordic chooses AIC for mill upgrade
AIC has been awarded by Celsa Nordic, part of Spanish Celsa group, for the mill drives revamping of the Bar & Wire rod mill located in Mo I Rana, close to the arctic circle in Norway.
This project is finalized to a modernization of the old ABB drives with a new ABB DCS800 front end regulation. The scope of supply includes the ABB RMC upgrade to interface the new drives and a new safe torque off system with safety coded keys following the latest European regulations.
A second part of the project is related the intermediate shear that will be upgraded with a startstop configuration replacing the brake and clutch system. The scope of supply includes the mechanical upgrade, the new drive and automation as well the installation as a turn key project.
The modernization will be performed during three weeks summer 2017 shutdown.
